Rob Richardson
Robert Richardson was named the Titans’ head baseball coach May 2020.
Richardson
joins the Titans after spending the last 10-plus years coaching youth and high
school summer baseball in addition to serving as a hitting instructor. He has
coached and helped develop several players who advanced to the junior college
and NCAA Division I and III ranks. Most notably, his son Tre Richardson was the
2019 All Greater Houston baseball
hitter of the year as a junior at Kingwood High School and graduated early to attend
Baylor University on a baseball scholarship.
The
elder Richardson was a three-year letter winner at M.B. Smiley High School,
where the catcher was named to the 23-5A All-District team as a senior. He
received an academic scholarship to attend the University of Oklahoma and made
the baseball roster as a preferred walk-on. Richardson served as the Sooners’
bullpen catcher from 1998-2000, during which time he was under the tutelage of
former College World Series national champion coach Larry Cochell.
Richardson
earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from OU in 2003 and went on to complete
his Master of Business
Administration degree in marketing management from the University of Dallas
in 2008. He and his wife Leah are the proud parents to sons Tre and Braelon and
daughter Taylor.
