 Evon Welch Named Legacy Head Volleyball Coach

EVON WELCH NAMED LEGACY HEAD VOLLEYBALL COACH

SPRING, Texas (April 20, 2020) — Legacy the School of Sport Sciences has named Evon Welch the Titans’ new head volleyball coach. Before joining Legacy, Welch was the junior varsity head volleyball coach at Incarnate Word Academy in downtown Houston. During the off season she served as the Location and Operations Manager for the Cypress branch of Xcel Volleyball Club, where she is entering into her fourth season. Welch has collegiate and club experience with various organizations. A Spring, Texas native, Welch played volleyball for Westfield High School where she received several district honors before continuing her volleyball playing career at the University of St. Thomas (UST) in Houston, Texas. During her time at UST, Welch was a powerhouse middle blocker and right side, she helped lead her team to a 2010 Red River Athletic Conference Championship, earning a bid to the opening round of NAIA Nationals. Welch finished her playing career with All-Conference Honors. Welch earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, in 2015. She returned to UST, in 2018 as an assistant coach, and was instrumental in front row development.
