Shernae Lee Named Legacy Dance Coach

SHERNAE LEE NAMED LEGACY DANCE COACH

SPRING, Texas (April 23, 2021) — Legacy the School of Sport Sciences is excited to announce the Shernae Lee as the Titans’ new Dance coach. Lee brings over 25 years of dance experience with expertise in ballet, modern, lyrical, jazz, majorette, and African styles. She began her dance career at the age of 11. Lee, a Miami native, attended Florida State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminology degree in 2008. During her post-secondary years (2006-2010), she danced for Essence Dance Theatre, on the campus of Florida A&M University where she grew as a dancer and became a choreographer. In 2011, after earning her Masters degree in Social Work from Florida A&M University, she returned to her hometown and became a dance coach and artistic director for Richmond-Petrine Optimist Club where she taught girls ages 8-15. In 2014, she led her team to win a National Championship in Pop Warner Dance. In addition, she received an award for the highest score in all Dance categories. In 2015, Shernae moved to Houston, Texas and in 2016 she began working with DIAMONZ Dance Team of YES Prep Brays Oaks Campus as the artistic director and choreographer. During her tenure, she conducted workshops and extensive training to high school girls. In addition, she led the team in performances as well as competitions. Lee continues her journey as director and choreographer, she hopes to inspire young dancers to cultivate their creative expression while promoting academic achievement and achievement while increasing personal self-esteem.
