Spring, TX (May 24, 2021) – Legacy the School of Sport Sciences will join the Texas Charter School Academic and Athletic League (TCSAAL) for the 2021-2022 athletic season. We have been evaluating our options, and monitoring the changing interscholastic landscape for many months, and we have concluded that moving to TCSAAL is the best course of action for us. Heading into year four, it is important for Legacy to align with associations (league/conferences), that will put our sports programs in the best position to achieve their respective goals. TCSAAL is an exceptionally good fit for us academically, as well as athletically. TCSAAL will provide a new competitive home for all of our middle and high school sports bringing everyone under one association. As an affiliate premier program, our 6A Boys Basketball will maintain national independence under TCSAAL, and will continue to schedule and play a national schedule. TCSAAL currently does not sponsor Wrestling and Girls Flag football, so those programs will compete as independents. TCSAAL is the second-largest school league in Texas only smaller than the UIL and has become the premier, and only state-wide Charter School interscholastic league.
